Help your trees look and feel their best.

Pruning and trimming are about making your trees look good AND keeping them sustainable. However, if done improperly it can harm them for life.

Pruning and trimming done right.

Pruning and trimming are skills of their own. We’ll take the time and care to make sure that not only does your tree look better, but it’s set up to thrive. Many trees don’t need our attention at all to grow healthy and strong. However, when planted in less than ideal conditions (many urban settings) most trees need a little help to keep them in shape.

How much will it cost to prune or trim my tree?

More than most aspects of tree work no two trims are the same. When we quote we take into consideration:

  • Location: A tree growing over a house will cost more to prune than a similar tree in an open field
  • Size: Do large, high up branches need to be trimmed? These take more work to access.
  • Equipment: Jobs requiring unique aerial equipment are more costly.
  • Type of prune/trim: The kind of trim makes a difference. for instance shaping a tree takes a lot longer than just removing dead wood.
  • Condition: How the tree has been trimmed in the past, and other health factors, can complicate trimming today.
  • Conclusion: After looking at your tree and discussing your intentions an arborist can give you an estimate that fits your tree and your goals.

Does your tree need to be pruned or trimmed???

Here are some things that would indicate that it’s time to give your tree a trimming:

  • A young tree that you would like to encourage to have good structure, or a certain natural shape
  • Dead branches
  • Crossing/rubbing limbs
  • Damaged or diseased branches (look for lumps, fungi, patches of unusually rough bark.)
  • Getting close to power lines
  • Aggressively growing branches out of balance with rest of tree
  • Generally misshapen trees

“They carefully avoided damage to close fences and underlying plants were barely disturbed.”
